I'm a slacker

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

It's been about 3 weeks since I have posted anything. I know, I know......I am a slacker. So this will be a post like no other. I will try to catch you all up on everything that has happened. At least the highlights.....

First things first, my sale was quite a success. The turnout was not as huge as I had hoped for, but I still made a few bucks and made some new friends. I also got to spend some time with my friend Kacie. And thank you so much for your help darling....so appreciated!!! Here's a pic of the jewelry set-up.

Also I made some cupcake pops (thanks Bakerella)....oh so yummy!

The weekend after my sale we left for Bemidji to spend time with family. The drive was horrible!!! There was a blizzard, but we wouldn't miss that dinner for anything. We had the most fantastic meal that my sister-in-law made. We Wii bowled and drank and all in all I think everyone had a great time. I can't wait until next year. Thank you so much Carly...you are the best hostess!

That Sunday we left and headed to International Falls to spend the rest of the week with Joshuas family. It was an amazing time...it always is!

Josh and I decided to get each other wool coats for X-mas, then we went out and bought a 40" TV for the whole family. Now, since we got a new television , we decided to upgrade our cable too ;) YAY!

And award for the best gift ever goes to........Auntie Lisa and Uncle Osi with the leg lamp!

Thank you soooooooo much!

We are all home now safe and sound. Thanks goes out to everyone who helped make our Holiday one of the best ever!

Winning a prize you can't use....

So I had signed up for a contest for a year free of Pay-per-view movies.....and I won!!!! That's like $100 worth of movies!!!! Unfortunately I don't have digital cable or DVR (just basic) so turns out I can't use it. What a bummer! I was so happy I won something, then to find out I can't use it......oh well, maybe I will put it on Craigslist.
*Update*
Since we are now upgrading our cable we will be able to use the gift certificate!!!!
YAY for free PPV!

So, first off we finally got new decorations for our tree, it was a deal and a half for me to pick out a new color scheme. I found some great ones on sale at JC Penney and here they are on the tree.
Now onto more pressing matters, I have eleven days until my very first craft sale and I am so very nervous and excited at the same time. I still have a few more things I want to get done before then so I better get my butt in gear right away in the morning!
Then of course there are the cupcake lollipops I want to do for the sale as well....
I also started making purses for all the girls in the family and I still have to make at least 7 more...
Oh, and I still have no idea what kind of dessert I am going to make for the X-mas eve-eve dinner yet....
I also have about 80% of my Christmas shopping left to do sometome as well....
Anything is possible.......right?!

Didn't get much done today.....

because I hurt my toe and can't really walk all too well on it. It hurts so much. I can feel every single pulse of blood throb through it. It doesn't look good either .... ewwww.
That isn't a shadow, that is the actual color of my toe right now!
Sorry I couldn't help myself, I know ... yuck.
I did manage to do a load of laundry so that I am not trying to play catch up tomorrow. Josh was a doll and brought home dinner so I wouldn't have to be up hobbling around the kitchen, so appreciated! So tomorrow I will take a ton of asprin and try to get a few pieces done before we leave Thursday morning to go spend Thanksgiving with friends and family!

Working hard

Monday, November 24, 2008

Last night I broke my crimping tool :( so no more necklaces until I go buy a new one.

I feel like I got a lot done today even if I couldn't work on any necklaces. I did finish up the cute little Christmas sugar cookie earrings.
Then I moved on to a little more organizing, re-arranging my containers and making sure all my beads and findings had a place of their own, as well as putting all my polymer clay into containers as well.

Finally after I was satisfied I had everything where I wanted it, I pulled it all back out and started creating some earrings with all the beads I had so neatly put away. Now all I have to do is edit and post all the pics to my Shophandmade.com and Ecrater sites! So I now have over 200 pieces to bring to the craft sale!
My goal was 100.

Trying to organize the chaos...

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I went out yesterday with Josh to see if I could find some things to help me organize my workspace. I was thinking some cubes or shelving. We went to Target but I didn't really see a lot there tht I was too terribly impressed with, so alas, we left. Not empty handed though. Josh bought me a new "laptop purse"! It's fabulous and I love it, although I did have to order a new sleeve off ebay last night because the one that came with it was just a tiny bit too small.

While I was searching around ebay for a new laptop sleeve I found a cool shop where you can customize your own laptop skin. So I did.
So I suppose I should stop goofing around this morning and get to work. Only 25 more days until my very first craft sale!
